I have the JL Audio in my 2001 Club Cab, goes under the rear seat. 2 X 12" in there, and it is awesome. It sounds unbelievable.

Expensive as all get out, but head and shoulders above any truck system I have heard. Not in loudness, but in clarity. A joy to listen to.

Thanks

Where can the best pricing be found on the JL box?

Dave

JL only sells through approved brick and mortar stereo shops that you can actually walk into. They don't, as far as I know, sell through any internet distributors or E-bay companies, so prices are fairly standardized.

I have a 10 sub in a box on the rear floor board, flat on top that I use like a shelf. The seat will fold down like normal but I never put it down. In 10 years the rear seat has been used 3 times. The bass will just about run you out of the truck. I can't even think about a 12". Looks simple and is. Like the owner, looks simple but works well.

I decided to build my own but if you don't mind forking out 150. 00 bills this guy builds a sweet OEM box on ebay, check it out here

Hope this helps.

Cali-600,

Thanks alot for pointing me in this direction. I went with the box on EBAY and I have installed it and I love it. It sounds good and get to keep my space under the back seat. Again thanks for the info.

Has anyone figured out a way to put a sub under one of the front seats?

For 05 JL only offers the under back seat box which rules out flat load floor. Not so good for the dogs.

I am kind of leary of the ebay box because it sounds as if it does not look very stock and the raised center height is not appealing.

There have to be some other options.

If you normally leave your armrest down, no one will ever notice it. It is not meant to be a seat anymore, but on occaision somebody will have to sit on mine. Mine blends pretty well, the color match is perfect.

A lot of mobile audio shops are capable of building speaker boxes.

If you want one to fit under the front seat, I reckon that will be your best option.

I would expect to spend a bit for it, though.

GOod Luck!

ilovetrains,

I was sceptical at frist but once installed, I love it. I think it sounds good. I priced out custom boxes under the rear seat and this hands down is the best route. As for the center console being raised, it does not bother me and the wife has said nothing to this day  about it, and yes she knows I was putting in a custom box.

Glad to hear the Ebay box worked for you. I would have bought one from him also but I was after a little more volume for my 12" speaker. Don't know why he is building them 2 inches higher than the seats mine sits flush. I don't think you would want to sit on it though. Between the bass and 1. 5" padding I used you would loose all feeling down there. :-laf

If you want one of those e-bay boxes (@ a discount) & you're close by, let me know. I might still have one from my brother's truck. we didn't like how high it sat & took it out.
