Chevy Electric Brake Port

I have a 1995 Dodge Neon that needs a new head. Never did any work that appears as in depth as this. I have limited tools availabe. Is this something I can do on my own or should I just junk the car..... #@$%!

If do not value the car & like learning new things , I'd say go for it , but tools are a biggy when it comes to doing any mach. work , then this is big enough job that you should have a teacher/ journeyman/ instructor - a lot of details .
What is wrong with the head , how do you know the head is junk , is it off the car ???
If the head is junk , then your already going to spend at least a few hundred , junk yard head , rebuilt , gasket set , water pump , timing belt ect ,
If your going to spend a few hundred then you want to get some long term use out of it , you may want to have it done ,
Where abouts in Wis. are you ? If it was close enough , then you might get some help , lots of variables .

Water pump seized and took out timing belt. Those have been repaired. It has no power so I am suspecting a piston hit a valve. I was thinking of getting used head from the junkyard or a rebuild?

I located in east central Wisconsin...

Testing , compression test .
Its comin that the belt gets set a tooth off , eng runs but low power , same with distributor .

Almost the same thing happened to my wifes 95 neon. The water pump pully came off timing belt came off and bent every valve in the head at 201k miles. The original engine was a constant problem with oil leaks but the car was like new and does 38 mpg consistantly so I put a long block in it. The 94-95 neons had a head gasket oil leak that was fixed in the 96 model. The block that came out was dated 94 the block that went in had a 96 date and just flipped 100k on the reman engine with 0 problems. 300k+ miles and still running great. 5spd 2 door coupe.

The rebuild was a Marshal engine. Came with a 3 year 100 k warranty that was never needed.

Whta was the cost of that motor?

The long block was around 2k with the added no fault warranty rider that was 300 bucks. If you do anything from overheat it or run it with no oil in it, it is covered no questions asked. Not sure if that is offered anymore. The rest of the car was in such good shape yet and we bought it new so the 2500 I stuck into it was worth it. We could have bought a $2500 junker and not known what we would have gotten. plus we like the 38+mpg it gets.
