I need to get some sort of step or nerf bar for my dually. I like the "chrome touch" that the nerf bars would add, and I'm thinking nerf bars would give me a little more ground clearance than steps.

1. Any advice or other options I should consider?

2. Where should I consider buying these products?

Thanks for the help... .

I guess it depends on where you're running and what you're doing... . I went with running boards on my truck because of all the gravel running I do-IMO the boards do a lot better job of protecting the rockers from stones than the nerf bars do. Plus I need something to step up on the box to access my center toolbox... . I'm 6'1" but with the 315's on the truck it's just too tall to get into the center!

I've got the Putco SS running boards-I love them. This is the 2nd truck I have had them on-to tell the truth I prefer the 1st generation of them with the square outer edge to these 2nd generation ones with the rounded edge appearance-wise... but they're still good boards. Pretty strong-I've had my 230 lbs. on them quite a bit with no problems as of yet. And they look great-I'm a sucker for shiny stuff! No matter what you get on them or how long you leave it there, a quick trip to the car wash and they're shining like the day they went on... .

The Mopar moulded color-matched boards are also supposed to be super-strong-as are the diamond-plate ones. I didn't want aluminum... but I would think hard if I was rigging another truck about the moulded ones. They aren't cheap... . but nothing that's any good is any more...

Hope this helps

Jason
