What is the history behind Dodge and CTD?

Similiar question to the Utah emissions post. Can a non-Nevada & California special emissions manufacured truck ( those in my sig) move in and be allowed to register and take test and what are chances of completely stock units passing using B-99 and/or petro ULSD? Thanks, JimB.

I have NEVER been emission tested on my '95 since I bought it new here in CA. I live in a rural area, but I have not heard of anyone living in a metropolitan area being tested either.

When I bought my 92, I flew to Chicago and drove it home. I took my IL paper work into the DMV and transfered to CA registration. The only trouble I had was they have to get someone at the DMV to go outside and inspect you vehicle to assure that it trully has a Diesel engine. The Dumb *** they sent out took 30 minutes to get there and another 15 to figure it out. Duhhhh,,, No spark plugs? No joke. Other that that the law is easy.

ca have no emmisions testing on diesels. nevada has a opacity testing. thats it. so there should not be a problem registering it.

If a vehicle is SPECIFICALLY not CA emissions legal you can only bring it in if it has more than 7500 miles on it. Then you are OK

Thanks for the info. Soon I begin a long RV style search for retirement place to live. Soaring locations (hang glide, paraglide, sailplanes, windsurfing) tops the list and California-Nevada areas are pretty good but I've specifically avoided buying into the new diesel emmissions engines thinking that Bio-diesel and the 5. 9's run pretty clean already.
