Well... Needless to say, the 600 isn't here yet and I already found the dealer lied.

I wanted the fold flat floor, he said I couldn't get it with the sport package. Never did mention that it required the premium or leather seat package. I ordered the standard interior.

The other question I had was if I still get the additional storage under the front cubby (is it standard). I have never seen this, and have no clue what it looks like, but I like the idea.

Anybody have a pic in their profile?

Thanx

Yes you will get the lower cubby because you have the 6 speed. If you get the auto, they install a pop out cup holder in place of the lower cubby that works like the ash tray does. They cant install it with the six speed because the shifter would hit it in 5th gear.

if you have the premuim cloth or leather, then you get this storage under the front middle seat

There are good dealersd out there.

But my service manager told me , when talking transmissions," people don't know it, but these truck trans are all the same, we swap them all the time between the Dakota's and one tons".

I just smiled and walked away.

It makes me uncomfortable to have sevice done at a place that knows less than me and /or tries to pull one over on me.

this makes me sorry that i can be assosiated with other "dealers"

Even dodge knows that there is a lack of knowledge among dealer employees, because they have a new program, "mystery shopper" program...

Where a "customer" (really a chrysler guy) comes in a asks key questions, to see if the salesperson is knowledgable... if so, he/she can win $1000 bonus

crazy huh? maybe that will stop some from selling the infamous hemi neon. . :)

Thats why I flew up to your dealership and drove a thousand miles home. The dealers I talked to around here were clueless and said the dumbest things you ever heard, not to mention the BS on the price. I. m sure I could have got them to come close to your price, but I wouldn't give them the satisfaction.

BTW,I had a gret trip back to Florida, except it rained till Georgia. Thanks again

Doug

glad to hear, did you have any stumble like some have had with the new "600"

I think your might be built too late to have the old Software

I had a "Sales Manager" tell me that the 600 HO only came with a 6 speed and that you couldn't get it with an auto. Most of them are truely clueless. Of course it's just like any job, he with the highest vacuum gets the promotion, it really doesn't matter if he knows anything. I'd like to be a mystery shopper for them, I love messing with dealers, they should do it for service departments too.

mystery questions??????

It would be nice to have a couple of those mystery questions to pop when dealing with those guys, to see witch ones ARE knowledgeable. just to be on the safe side. Course being as knowledable as we are, we shouldn't have any problemo. ;) ;)

marv.

The dumbest thing I was told was that the "600" was the hp of the new engine. This was the manager that sat behind the glass overlooking the floor like a big wig. I politely corrected him twice, but he got pizzed and insited I was wrong. The reason I was talking to him is because no one else at the dealership even new about the new engine, and this was after the Dodge press release.

Dealer # 2 said he would sell me one at invoice, then handed me a contract for $2200 over invoice, see ya.

Dealer # 3 could hardly speak english and I got tired of him not being able to communicate. After several trips to talk to his manager,I was outta ther too. :--)

My favorite thing to do. . well actually it isn't my favorite but it happens so often I expect it.

Pull in the lot, and you get scoped out. One or two start following you around like a magnet to steel.

Drive around lot while they walk around following you for a couple minutes. :p

Ask them questions that they should know but don't have a clue.

Then baffle them with data as they stand there speechless.

Had one the other day doing just that. All they had on the lot was one 2500 and 3500 48RE, both 600s. I told the salesman that a Cummins should have a manual behind it, just as all Corvettes should have a manual trans in them. ;)

"Well I had a bla bla bla. . once and it had a bla. . "

Back to looking under the truck at the chassis.

Ask some more questions they should know.

Finally they say, "Follow me into the showroom where I can get you some literature".

Ah, no. Thanks but I gotta run.

"At least let me give you a business card. . oh it's in my office follow me down to the showroom".

OK, follow as they walk along, then drive off and hit the highway

when they go in the door.

:D

I don't do that to them all but the one I had the other day deserved it!
