I had a thread on here a couple of months ago about the dreaded 70 mph vibe I had in my 04 QC SB 4x4 with a 48RE. Well they offered to replace the truck (DC not the dealer) or pay me back. I figured I would give it another shot and went with a Silver QC SB 48RE 4x4 Laramie with the sport package. I did not have high hopes as every truck in this configuration that I have driven has had the vibe. I took it for a long Interstate jaunt yesterday and today. At first I told them to keep it, but I just wanted to make sure so I went for another ride today. I decided not to look at the speedo so as not to be waiting for the vibe at 70 mph. Bottom line it is the best truck I have driven do far... . although I am sure a set of hubs would still help. Don't know could be just the Cummins at certain speeds also. It does feel a LITTLE different at 75 than 65 but the difference is VERY slight. I also have to realize that I am hyper-sensitive to the issue now with the bad experience that I had and that I might not have even noticed it (if it does exist) if this had been my first truck. So anyway I took it home. Ok now for the rest;
You can really tell that the 610 is quieter than the 555. No doubt about it, however it does seem to have a little less low end grunt. I have not floored it yet and will not for a while. I LOVE the new shift program on the 48RE... . FINALLY a real TOW HAUL!!! It is so nice to hit the tow/haul mode and not have the truck go straight into 3rd gear and come out of O/D. And get this it actually shifted down and held a gear while I was coming down a hill. Can not wait to tow with it. Other than that pretty much the same truck as I had except for the hands free cell phone feature.
