I went to the track this afternoon to see how the new TC/Trans upgrade would do. First time I have ever ran a WOT 1/4 in 4WD or launched over 15psi of boost. I made a number of runs trying to figure out exactly what I was doing with launch boost and lockup button. Not the best day for racing, 97*, high humidity and a head wind. OK all the excuses are out of the way.

Stock truck w/315s last Sept.

TC and Transmission upgrade makes it possible to launch with 20psi boost in 4wd. Took over 1 second off my best time with the exact same mods. I am pretty sure I will do better with a little more practice in 4wd. Still a long way off from my goal of low 13s, but a BIG step in the right direction.

Thanks Michael.

Yes I left it in 4wd until slowed down after run. After reading all the posts related to launching in 4wd and trying a few launches, I decided that even if you shift it out of 4wd is stays locked up until you let off of the throttle. The first few times I did it made me pucker pretty good. I had no idea what kind of front end vibrations might happen at 80-90mph with the 315s in 4wd. After a few runs I felt comfortable with it. I had no real vibration or control problems at all, really can't tell that it is in 4wd unless you hold the T-Case shifter.

Have you tried 2 wheel drive?

and are you locking it up in second gear?

do you have a billet input and output shafts?

i would try 10 pounds of boost in 2WD or as much as you can without wheel spin

I did post about the TC/Trans upgrades on another thread. Setup for racing. Triple disc TC with custom HP/Stall, VB, billet input, intermediate and output shafts, bunch of other things. I think I was actually launching with too high a boost lauch. Will be working on that along with adding HP.

Graphic man,

I will not hook up the 315s with anything over 8psi boost in 2wd. It looks impressive to smoke the 315s for about 2-4 seconds, but does not get you down the track.
