Whose truck was this, and/or did it ever get fixed?

Are all oil pan gaskets created equal?

Hey guys,

I picked up a 91 250 yesterday... auto, 3:55, reg. cab. LE It's pretty well loaded elec windows, doors, cruise etc...

Has been sitting in a garage for over 2 years... starts right up, but a little rough... smokey 'till it warms up. Got some Power Service in it, hope that does the trick. needs a few things fixed, oil pressure gauge not working, u-joints a little loose, brake light on, etc...

I changed the oil, filter and fuel filter today...

truck looks and runs stock... buuuuuut... maybe not fer long... :-laf :-laf

New/old truck

 Tom, my first Cummins was a '91 regular cab--I would still have it if it had been a club cab. Pull the anti-lock brake line electrical connector on top of the rear axle housing, clean up contacts & it will most likely turn brake light warning off. Congratulations on your find. :D

thanks guys,

Jim, I'll do that tomorrow, been under it changing the rear gear oil.

I've gotta figure out how to get to the idle screw... someone idled it up, no tach, so I don't know just how much, but it's up too much. I can see it... just don't know how you get a tool on it in that cramped space.

Also my brake lights quit working... guess I'll get to know this truck real well real soon ;)

Brake lights have a fuse (IIRC) and if it is blown, look at the trailer light plug in for shorts. Thats what happened to mine. This will cause the brake light in the dash to be on.
