OK - maybe I'm way to ol fashion - BUT if they make the 2500 etc like this - I mean who wants to eliminate the middle seat up front with a FREAKING FORD Wanna-be center F150 Console????? These things are getting sissified enough - STOP IT!!!!

Also - that Top Bed/Fender storage - looks like you can't out a camper or shell on with that... ...

Let's hope so. The front seat area looks cramped and the seats look hard with no support. What's the deal with the cutout in the backseat? If that's not for a built in child seat it will be really uncomfortable back there for no reason. The console needs to be optional across the line not just in the base packages. Let's hope they have a real truck package with vinyl split bench seats, rubber mats, and a folding console. The styling is alright especially when you dump the chrome, but the view from out back is rather bland compared to the front end. The four wheel drive sits too low in the front.

I was just looking at the pictures. It looks pretty nice and there are some innovative ideas in and out.

However... I got the very end of the specifications and it lists that all applicable weights are based on a 150 lb. driver? I guess they are expecting a lot of women or kids to be driving these! Pretty funny...

Fffffuuuuugggggglllllyyyy!

That thing looks like sh!*!!! What happened to trucks like the concept Power Wagon? This thing looks like it was designed by a cross eyed lesbian with PMS! If they want a "truck" that looks like this then fine, separate the 1500 from the 2500/3500/4500/5500 and make them look like a truck... ... #@$%!#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!

Dang, Ron, tell us how you really feel! Since M. Y. 1994, the Dodge Ram has either been loved or hated for it's looks. I had to get used to the 2002/3 design. I do know this: at the point where I'm in financial position to do it, I'm going to have a truck like my 99 as a "classic" ride. I saw a Gen 1 truck this week in the SE US that reminded me how much I love the looks of the Gen 1s.

Regarding the 09 model, I happen to think it's a sharp looking truck. They didn't deviate too far from the current design, which would've driven loyal RAM fans away. As far as the interior, if I was going to trade my 05 CTD in, it would be on an 09 or later when they have the light duty diesel established, say around 2012. By that time, they'll be getting near the end of the 09 design, and all the kinks should be worked out.

From 35 years of experience (plus that of my Dad and his father and great uncles) and having discussed vinyl seats on a work truck (farm pickups specifically) with other farmers, work trucks need a plain jane leather seat package. Vinyl isn't worth a darn for durability (especially at the doorside edge), fabric seats are hard to clean (but last longer), but LEATHER (even a non-fancy trim leather) seats can't be beat for durability, ease of care (saddle soap or any good leather cleaner will do), and WAY MORE COMFORTABLE. Granted, if you live down in the hotter parts of the country, it can be murderously uncomfortable in the summer, but vinyl is just as bad.

AKaiser, sorry to get on such a tyraid about it, however I have never owned anything but Dodge trucks and never will. The 94-02 have a classic unmistakable look to them. The new design just seems be starting to look more and more like the others. I prefer the 06-07's with the chrome headlight cover trim (aftermarket) over the 03-05's but they were not that bad of looking either. I Dodge would have kept the headlights we saw in that very first spy photo of the '09 and kept the hood to fender transition a little more squared up, in my opinion they would have had a better looking truck. I do like the new crew cab. The V-8 diesel option in the 1/2 tons would be great had the EPA not screwed up all of the diesels with their crap. If all of the money wasted on that would have been put toward synthetic and bio diesel production I believe it would have all been for the better.
