I just put these on my truck today. They are brand new 2007 rims with tires that had less than 20 miles on them. Got a GREAT DEAL on them. -Jason

Vaughn, What kind of paint did you use? I was thinking of doing that. I just don't know how the paint will hold up. I like how your rims turned out. -Jason

I was told that there the polished alum wheel is no longer , it has a glued on pice of stainless or chromed tin

someone told me that too. But these sure look like they are polished. Time will tell I guess. My luck you are right. -Jason

Jason, the paint came from a paint/bodyshop supply place, it was Mae's Omni AE. I think any quality automotive paint will suffice. For the clear I was told that the best stuff can only be bought in cans (need to use sprayer) but since I didn't want to hassle with all that they said U-Pol Clear #1 was OK. Since it cost $17 a can it should be better than Krylon :-laf

I just taped off the wheel, sanded quite a bit, prepped & sprayed. I used thin vinyl tape for masking in order to make the tight turns around the spokes. I said "show me what Chip Foose uses" ;)

Did 3 coats of paint & clear on each wheel. The whole job took some work, questioned if it was worth the effort, but I'm happy I did it.

Bob V I saw '07. 5 & '08 trucks in the lot with polished alum wheels. I noticed they changed the style slightly (the spoke holes are a bit bigger).

JOdell, one last note, I don't think this would work as well on anything other than the painted, cast aluminum wheels. The cast wheels have a nice sharp line between the spoke sides and face, so you have a nice clean transition point. On the chrome-clad and polished aluminum wheels the spoke edges are rounded. If you compare a closeup pic of my wheels with what you have you'll see what I mean --> http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n228/VMac822/My Trucks/IMG_0342.jpg?t=1197246675

Thanks Vaughn, I just figured out that these do have some metal or plastic Chrome cover glued to it. I am still happy with them. That cover must be tough, it has the wheel weights over them. -Jason

They look good. I just purchased a set with 30 - 40% of the factory rubber still on the tires for $350. I put them on one of my work trucks to replace the ugly steel wheels the ST trim level came with. One of these wheels at the dealer is probably $400.
