New 5" MBRP on 2006DRW

Had new 5" MBRP turbo to tip installed today. With windows rolled up and radio playing gently I could not hear a difference inside cab. When I fueled slightly I could then hear a deep toned gentle sound. I am impressed.

What I did notice was an increase in the overhead from about 12. 5-13. 0 to 16. 3. That was interstate driving at 65mph. I also noticed the engine temp hand which normally is totally centered on 200 degrees has cooled down about the double width of the red hand pointer. It is surely running cooler. The installer took my 4" converter and trimmed it closely and made the inlet 5"s

Sounds great we get similiar comments from other folks/customers that have installed the 5 inch and left the cat in place as well. Enjoy it and have fun!!

At what power level dues a 5" exhaust make sense. Just wondering

Hey yourself, glad your OK!!! Rolled a 1972 GMC back in 1976, not fun!!!! The 5 inch isn't really a needed thing till your at or over 500 RWHP, even then the difference is minimal. The sound and look is what most folks are after and it does sound good and if you get the 5 to 6 inch tip it's a killer look too!!

Five inch straight pipe sounds horrible to Subaru drivers but its music to my ears! I'm gonna have to put the muffler in if I ever want my wife to ride in my truck again... . on second thought, maybe I'll leave the muffler out!
