New 545RFE Auto Trans Seek Info

I was looking at a site to purchase a new 06 and saw a option for a 5 speed auto 545RFE. Is this a new auto transmission or is it for gas engines? It was posted with the options for the cummings diesel 2500 Ram. Anyone have any information on it?

It should be the trans behind the Hemi, I dont know anything about a Cummings diesel but behind the CUMMINS the auto that is offered is the 48RE.

That is correct. The 545RFE is only available with the hemi. If you go to the "Build your Truck" page, once you select the Cummins, the 545RFE is no longer an option.

With the Cummins you can only have the 48RE.

With the new, optional CUMMINGS V-8 you can get the 545, or even the new 666-DCBSRT.

Yeah, the only 5 or 6 speed autos you'll be able to afford come from LSD mfg. Those only work if both the truck and driver are running direct alcohol injection. Makes for some sweet "burnouts" though.
