new 6.7 in but not 100% right

my new truck came in today and i was stoked till i found out that it had the 4x4 switch on the dash instead of the floor. i did not order it that way! it is not on the order sheet that way. it should have the t-case stick on the floor and the mini floor counsel not the pos fold down cup holders that i replaced in my 05. the only thing i can think of is that the cust preferred package was picked wrong and somehow included it. it was 2FG on an SLT 6. 7 68rfe lwb. the sales guy who has been there a long time (he ordered and sold me my 03) said it was included and not an extra price option. i know the push button 4x4 thing comes with the larime but its like 250 ish on the SLT. i dont want it period! they fail when you need it most and i want the mini counsel to hold my beverage of choice! any ideas??? ... chris

Other than swapping out the transfer case and cutting a hole in the floor for the t-case stick, I don't know of any other options.

I also like the the console and after speaking with Adam at Dishman he told me the SLT comes with the console and the Laramie with the fold down cup holder. To add it after the fact is approx. 3K. Lots of dash pieces need to be replaced. Most of the local trucks at our local dealserships are SLT's with the Big Horn package and they have the floor console and stick on the floor for 4x4 (manual shift on the fly).

It must be an option because the window sticker on the SLT shows the manual SOTF as standard equipment. Good luck keep us posted

I was able to order my laramie with the floor console and the jump seat

although I was stuck with the electric 4x4 switch since I have the Megacab and the rear vents run where the shifter needs to be.

I dont like the electric 4x4 switch my hand seems to turn on 4x4 when shifting the transmission.

the laramie comes with the 4x4 button thing so it would not get the floor counsel. one of the many reasons i dont want a laramie. im going down to the dealer shortly to see what my options are. i guess i can order another truck, put a counsel in this one (did that in my 05 about 100. 00 and some change) and keep the 4x4 button and hope it does not lock me in neutral on a boat ramp or in the middle of nowhere like i have heard has happend to other members, or just cancel the deal. i could understand an ordering mistake but i have a copy from their computer the day we ordered it and we did not pick that option. the truck just showed up that way. well i will post when i get home and have figured out what happened.

it is not the end of the world just a major bummer after getting so excited.

Floor Console

I would see what they can do for you since it sounds like an ordering mistake

I have a laramie with the floor console here is a picture show this to them if they give you any lip

I had to order it this way I wanted the extra jump seat if needed

Keep in mind that there are two Larmie option packages.

Cgarling, as of 4-16 the electronic transfer case is now standard on 2500/3500 SLT's and Laramie's. Your truck was probably built after that date is why you have the electronic transfer case on the dash. We received the e-mail on 4-16-07. So if you order a SLT from now on it will come this way. Hope this helps.

thanks. i finally found out this morning. im not happy about it but nothing i can do about it. i ordered the counsel at dealer cost and all the parts together were about 160. 00 and they will install at cost too. well i need to change my sig also first update! 24 miles on her and no problems yet

Hopefully, to boost your confidence level some...



We have an 04. 5 with the electronic shift on the fly. I use it a lot: rain, snow, off-road. It has workded flawlessly.



I prefer it to the manual shift we had previously.

I wasn't sold on the electronic shifter either. After an "owner induced malfunction", I read the manual and haven't had a problem since.
