We just received a great deal on NEW NV5600 (6 speed) transmissions, both 2 and 4 WD. We also have several good used NV4500 (5speed) transmissions. If you are interested, let me know and I'll get you pricing.

------------------
98 Dodge Ram, 2500, 12 valve, automatic trans. , 4 WD. Performance injectors, HX40 turbo, Pro Torque torque converter, valve body, pump work and lots more! Dana 80 rear end- I had to throw the 70 away after snapping off two pinions in 2 months. Even with all these modifications, I still take a back seat to my husband "White Dodge".

Just curious, are you changing the auto for the manual trans? (the thought has crossed my mind a few times)

We have changed out the automatics for standards. It is not a bad job, if you have a junk truck for parts. I'd hate to try to order every clip, bracket, etc. from Dodge. Most of our customers that have the change out done have went through 3 or 4 rebuilds on their automatics before deciding to switch to the standard transmission.

I was thinking about trying to find a wreck to do a conversion. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from a '98 or newer due to the electronic speedo. I'm just wondering if my transfer case would work (with the right adapters) or is it totally different? Where do you locate donor trucks? I've been looking on the web at different salvage yards with no luck. Thanks for the info

Is it feasible to swap a 6-speed for a 5-speed? I worry about my 5th-gear nut coming off. Even the redesigned nut doesn't seem to be foolproof. If a swap is practical, I would do that before a preventative nut change in the 5-speed.
