Went by the local Dodge dealer this morning and found two new 600 s on the lot. The data sheet in the window, first item under standard equipment, says " Cummins turbo Diesel 600 " This is what to look for on a new truck. Now my question to you all is they are no longer calling the transmission a 48RE, but simply a 4 speed automatic. And the charge for such item is not any longer $1095, but instead $695. Has this transmission been changed andwhy the lesser cost ?

I was able to view three window stickers from a Dodge dealer near me, and they do say Cummins 600. Unfortunately, all three were already sold.

Where are you located?

the automatic is only listed as $695 on the sticker of a 3500 SRW shortbed, because the Cummins and 6-speed are standard on that model. 2500s and 3500 long beds (both SRW and DRW) will show $1095.

I am in Prescott, AZ. I would still like to know if the omission of 48RE and their calling it a 4sp automatic instead has any significance.
