New Aero Flow In And On!

Today by old buddy the UPS guy showed up and handed me my aero flow muffler. It looks to be well made and is very nice looking(I like shinny stuff). It is 20" long and just right for what I plan on doing. Recently I installed A HOG PERFORMANCE 4" ss exhaust, I real like it, but it did have a drone between 2000 and 2150. My experiment was to place this aero flow in-line and ahead of the muffler. Installation was a snap, just section out a 14" piece and bolt back in, really nothing more then loosening a few clamps and then re-tightening them. I bought two new band clamps for the installation. Well for now the only thing I notice is a higher pitched whirling sound coming from the tip. I can not take the truck out as yet, its up on jack stands with most of it's suspension removed. Waiting for me to finish yet another experiment. I'll post back latter and let you know if I got rid on the drone or not.

Well I had some time and took the truck out, first time since I installed the AREO muffler. It calmed down the exhaust note pretty good, you still know she's running but just a little less noise. The main objective to the install was to diminish, or eliminate the drone I had at 2000-2100. And seems to have none a good job of that, the drone is all but gone, and I still have a nice exhaust note. I wouldn't have minded the drone, if it was only when towing at those rpm's. But if I had a drone running empty, I knew it would only get worse towing. So I guess i'd have to label this experiment a success. The muffler set me back around 210. 00 with shipping, and I also bought some new intake boots, while I was at it. Not real bad, but I can't help thinking the little muffler is over priced, it's almost a 1/3 of what my HOG 4"ss exhaust cost. So it might not be for everyone.
