Although I cant reveal all the info because I have turned my "prototype " over to a custom fabricator for final building, But I would like to share with all that some time this winter there will be a NEW type of inlet system to all of you for purchase, this system is different than anything available to us Cummins owners and will fit all 94- 02 models, The prototype has proven to me to be of substantial gain on our EGT problems I pulled my 5er over the pass 6-7% grades on a 90 degree day and COULD NOT make my temp go over 1250... ... ..... WOW, I evan pulled down to 1500 RPM and still had 1250 pyro , another bennnifet is that before shut down time the pyro temp drops faster to the 300 mark for safe S/D.

I am not trying to keep you away from this modification but need time to do the final build of the product... ... ... ... . Kevin

Well, starting last summer I installed a airhorn temp probe and run it into the cab so I could monitor the air temp that was going into the Cummins for combustion, I wanted to see how efficient the exchanger is and it proved out to be pretty good, the best that any air exchanger can do at 100% effeciency is-------- ambient temp plus 20 degrees, I proved that on a day that was 102 degrees that the air horn temp was consistently running around 130 degrees , then on a 90 degree day pulling my 5er over a pass of 6-7% grades I registered 145 degrees so of course our inter cooler exchanger is not the max exchangment that is possible but it does make a big difference to the air inlet to the truck, the temps were climbing because the truck was working harder and also the temps under the hood rose under load, now we all want to make the truck work hard or we wouldnt have bought them so the temp under the hood is where I have concentrated my efforts, with that being said I can tell you that with this bomb we will be getting outside air and minimaul effect from the motor and turbo temp... ... ... ..... not trying to tease but I want the first system of its kind on the market and I havent seen anything like this available to us yet... ... ... ... Kevin

Any Idea on how much this will cost? Bolt in kit? Extensive modifications required? Do you intend to sell this product for a profit? If so, I don't see a need to "stir up intrest" as anyone with a bombed CTD would surely be interested.

Just my . 02

Best of luck and can't wait to see the finished product,

John

Once again, I am not trying to stirr people up , But it will be out of my court, I said I was turning it over to a custom fabricator so it will be his ball game from there , I thought of it and perfected it but he will be building all of the setups, I will have nothing to do with it,He is a professional and is in business, this is not a back yard mechanic, he builds firetrucks for a living and works with this kind of thing all day. Yes it will be a bolt in kit form with average mechanical experience needed . I am sure he will need a profit to make his business work and to pay overhead as well. I am sorry I mentioned it until it is available but it aint done yet, I am excited and waiting for the final product to be revealed just like you are and when it is done I will let you all know and I will give some pics as well so you can see what a great idea it really is, I am hopeing for its completion before the new year... ... ... ... ... Kevin

sounds interesting! One thing to note... a heat exchanger IS 100% efficient... . Qin=Qout..... if you are raising the air flow across the Hx (intercooler) good job! I have been thinking about using a different hood with the rear facing hood cowl to help get rid of some of the underhood heat.
