New axel ratio?

Just put the Toyo 285 x 17's on. Does anyone know how much higher my ratio is now from the 373 stock? I haven't noticed much difference, but the handling is great. Doc

your 3. 73 ratio will always be the same. I am assuming calculating the final drive ratio? is you do a search for Klenger's gear ratio chart, you can change the formulas around to show the altered values. I would not expect too much of a change with the tire size you went with.

Well, you didn't specify the aspect ratio of the tires, but assuming you went from 265/75/17 to a 285/75/17, that's only around a 3. 5% change... so a 3. 73 rear end would effectively become a 3. 60.

Thanks, the new tires sure look a lot bigger. Bigger is better???????
