After my ball joint disaster I installed new Bilstiens in the front. What a difference in comfort. I will have the rears in on Friday. Now I need to do the Excusion with 10,000 miles on it. I noticed it rides like crap lately. New shocks are worth the money. I wait to 60,000 I didn't think they would make much difference, big mistake. Got them at ORW for 58 each. Thanks to those you give me tips.

just a heads up

keep an eye on the grommets in the front

great shocks but the rubber bushing setup gave me problems( to tight or not tight enough) They get eaten up and i had to get new ones from Bilstein(free)

Always seems to be my passenger side shock too

But the ride is 1000% better than stock

I loved the Bilstein OEMs I put in the front of my '96 Ram, but one trip across the US and back and they're darn near toast. The NE freeways and turnpikes were pretty brutal with a load. I'm thinking of upgrading to the 5150 series.

Also how do you get the TDR discount, I think I'm going to try them out. Can I just replace the front or will it make differant if I replace the rears also?

I paid 65. 99 each from them. Part # BE5-6681-H5 (front). I don't know if the TDR discount still applies. There use to be an icon to click on at their home page. You might try calling and asking for the discount. The only problem I had was the 60 day back order wait. Ordered on 7/8 recieved on 9/15 installed 9/16. :)

I just ordered my front replacements from Offroad Warehouse. Great folks. For warranty replacements you have to basically buy another set, swap out, then return the defective ones to Offroad. They then send them to Bilstein who will then check them and give the OK for warranty coverage. Then you are refunded the replacements purchase cost minus shipping.

I paid $57. 99 apiece I believe, and $6 shipping. Vaughn

Hey, which Bilstein shocks am I supposed to use for the '02 2500 Diesel, the 6400-7500 GVW or the 8400+ ?

ORW still says it gives a shipping discount for TDR members.
