Imperium Fuels/Seattle Bio-Diesel has announced that they will build a new manufacturing facility in Aberdeen, WA, Grays Harbor County. They will be capable of making up to 100 million gallons of B-99 bio-diesel annually, this is up from 5 million gallons annually, it will be the largets bio-plant in the U. That price is junk and I wonder what is going on. Where I get my B100 the owner, Bobby told me he could have gotten three railcars at $1. 70/gal out of a refiner in CO. Currently he is getting it out of Conroe Tx and we are paying $2. 74/gal. He was told the price is so high because they are trying to pay for the refinery and their investment. The way I see it is that the refiners probably have the idea that if we are willing to pay $2. 80 for #2 then we will certainly pay a few cents less for bio. Bunch of you know what to me, hopefully we won't see a trend with bio like we do with #2.

Let's face it... . it can't be too far under #2 or people would make the switch to plain old biodiesel and then eventually they couldn't keep up with demand. I think you'll see it pegged to the price of #2, whether it's "official" and they admit it or not. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that it truly can't be allowed to be substantially less than #2 diesel... . for everything to work as they see it, the price MUST be fairly close. Otherwise they can't supply their markets and then what happens to prices?? But railcar loads of B-99 for $1. 70 per gallon out of Colorado? Maybe FOB from the refinery but add transportation costs for an 800 mile journey in a rail car and again the price goes up quick.

Coming from CO a tank car would run about $3500 to get here. Maybe a little less or more than $3500 and Bobby could sell the bio at around $1. 90-1. 95/gal and still make a profit. Seems really silly to be paying $2. 74/gal when we could be paying $2. 00/gal.
