Finally, Finally I was able to do my rear end and brake work this weekend.
Me driver side rear axle was leaking pretty good and the passenger side one was also. This caused the truck to majorly pull to the right when the brakes were applied.
I bought the full rear end kit from Quad 4x4 including the upgraded oil bath seals. DO NOT USE THE REGULAR DEALER OR PARTS STORE GREASE SEALS, THEY WILL LEAK! All the quad 4x4 stuff was great quality, timkin bearings and national oil bath seals. Only problem I have with them is the shipping price is a major rip off. $17 to ship 8 pounds, they are charging 9. 00 shipping and about an 8. 00 handling fee. Kind of pist me off but what do you do.
Anyways, new bendix 13x2. 5 shoes, turned the drums, new hardware, installed the new bearings and seals. Even used the upgraded axle nuts purchased from Quad 4x4. Everything went very smooth. Installed the Maghytec Diff Cover and filled with amsoil gear lube.
Dont forget to pack the new axle bearings with synthetic grease! since it takes a while for the gear oil to reach them.
Now, the brakes work like a dream, car stops wonderful. Sure discs would stop better but these brakes stop very good for a truck with 35" tires. No need to upgrade to discs. I love my new brakes!
