I Just ordered a Leer Canopy for my truck. I do have the Putco Bed caps with stack holes on the sides and the tailgate. I am just wondering opinions on if i should remove the bedcaps before dropping the new canopy on, or if i should leave the bedcaps on? If i leave the bedcaps on is the topper gonna seal right? Is it gonna look funny where the bed and topper come together and you see bedcaps sticking out??? Just want to get opinions on what you guys think?? THANKS ALOT IN ADVANCE. .

ANYONE WITH PICS WOULD APPRECIATE... THANKS

The only way I would keep um would be if there were some functionality. Are you keeping the canopy on full time? I think I would lose them as it will probably ruin the "line" between the canopy and the bed. My $. 02.

I have plastic bed rail caps and I am able to put my Leer topper down on top of them. I only put the cap on in the winter though, if I was going to have it on full time I would probably take the rail caps off.

I will post a picture for you with the topper on the rails.

If yours are metal I bet it wont fit.

If your worried about looks, take them off as the cap will not have a "wrap rail" to hide the bed rail caps. The shell makers only put wrap rails, designed to cover rail caps, on shells for trucks that come from the factory with rail caps. If your worried about paint damage, I'd leave them on as the shell may rub the paint on top. Of course, if you remove them and then take the shell off, you could reinstall them to cover any paint damage. I came by this info after researching all shell options to death before finally buying.

Should I leave the tailgate cap or not I dont think that should matter because nothing sits on top of it???? I dont know. what you guys think

I would leave both caps on. I have had various shells on several different truck beds, and caps will always shift and vibrate slightly. This will cause squeaks and rub marks on the paint. Then if you carry something longer in your truck bed and it has to hang out the back, the cap will keep it from scratching up the paint on the top lip of the tail gate.
