Got the 2012 Grizzly Industrial catalog in. Now I get more stuff to drool over.

But, I find it interesting that they're putting in large, bold letters with red background: MADE IN TAIWAN.

I guess the whole Made in China syndrome is affecting them too.

Everything's made in Taiwan or China anymore. I'm not a big fan of Grizzly machinery. I stay with Delta, which are now also made in Taiwan. What tools are wanting to get?

Delta started making drill presses in Taiwan many years ago. I got one from Woodworker's Supply in 1987 and that's where it came from. It is very well made and has served me well. I think there is a difference in quality between tools made in Taiwan and mainland China. I'd still like see Made in U. S. A on them...

I also have a Delta drill press from Woodworker Supply here in Albuquerque made in the USA. I also have a Delta Unisaw and a Delta Band Saw and a Sander. all made in the USA and purchased from Woodworker Supply. However, I'm being told that all these machines are now being made in Taiwan.

I also have Woodtec Machinery from Woodworker Supply, which are made in Taiwan. Woodtec machines are good, but not the quality of Delta.

Grizzly,

When did you buy your drill press? When I ordered mine, the catalog didn't mention where it was made and I was a little leery when it showed up with made in Taiwan in the name plate. But, it really has proven to be a good machine. It is the 16 speed floor model and is pretty heavy and well built. When Woodworker's Supply opened their store in Wyoming a few years ago, I was kind of like a kid in a candy store. I haven't bought any Woodtec machines, but have looked at them.

I bought a Ellis 9500 drill press, has power down and infinate variable motor controll. THE BEST purchase for my shop. A dream to use. TOUGH equipment. It was not cheap, but then is IS not cheap. .

My Drill press is the big floor model, 16 speed and it say USA made. I purchased it at Woodworker Supply new, about 6 years ago. It is however much older than that because it sat in their warehouse for a long time. I got a killer deal on it. It has been absolutely great and I use all the time.
