Part number 3936318. I know mine is a 3936316 so I wonder what the difference is, does anyone know? The output fitting looks different. If that's the only difference I wonder if guy could just swap the two parts. They list them for the 3. 9 and the 8. 3. I don't need a pump but at $45 I would buy one if it could be made to work.

I searched the Cummins Quickserve Website and found that 3936318 and 3936316 are two different pumps, and that they are part numbers at the end

of a long supercession of part numbers. Technical bulletin 00T5-16 describes

the latest versions (3936318, 3936316, and others) as being modified versions of the Federal Mogul supplied pumps that have been changed by FM to reduce noise (as if we could hear the darn things anyway). If you want to

supply your engine serial number, I can confirm your list pump part number for you, and determine if there are newer part numbers that you can use.

As for the physical differences between the two pumps, I cannot tell from the website. That's not how the site works. But... . if Cummins has bothered to keep multiple part numbers for 12 valve lift pumps, there is a reason.....

It's me again. Before I left the Cummins site, I decided to search group numbers that contained each part number. Here's what I found.

The 3936318 pumps between 117 to 229 liters per hour @ 1250 rpm.

The 3936316 pumps between 187. 4 to 304. 2 liters per hour @ 1250 rpm.

So, it appears that there is a difference. It would not be to your advantage

to use the "318" pump.

By the way, I looked at your links. Nice Truck. Good Mods. And I am saved.

Thank you for asking.

Take care, all.

Thanks for looking that stuff up for me. I won't be getting one of those pumps then. Too bad they are not the right one at the price they are going for. Glad you liked my links.
