ok so i saw this new to me anyways chip from edge called the milage max. this sounds and looks like the edge ez. im curious is there any differences and if so what.
I think all it does is timing, no added fueling. If your gonna go that route, go with Quadzilla's equivilant (sorry, I forget what its called). It does the same thing as edge's box, its got a 30day guaruntee, the programming can be updated through the usb port, and its cheaper Also, if you ever decide to do it someday, it can be upgraded to their XZT+.
You can also get a Smarty and set it on the #1 fuel saver setting that uses timing to gain mileage. If you get bored with the lack of power you can ditch the #1 setting and crank it up to #9 for hauling *** or heavy towing.

and from my real world testing (all hand calculated 4 separate tanks over different long distance highway trips) I really got no improvement in mileage on the fuel saver and it 'felt' like a lot less power. Your results may vary but not impressed.
I tried the #1 setting once on a 400 mile round trip and the lack of power very irritating. I think I managed about 18. 2 mpg. I usually run Smarty on #8 plus Comp on 5x5.
I have the Quadzilla XZT+ with a Max Mileage setting. It showed a little increase but my PU is pretty thrifty anyway so nothing big. They also claim another 25hp in Max Mileage mode (65hp in power mode) but that's hard to feel.
What I like about Quad is the free downloads online. They just posted a "High Idle" file for the XTZ+ and it works great. There's also various fueling files free for the taking too.
