I talked o Trophy Rig Outfitters at the Stock Show in Fort Worth tonight. The are advertising a new "Dodge Power Module" for $595 special from PAC Chips in Fort Worth. I was told it is called the PAC 2001/2002 power module and increases HP by 60 and torque by 120 ft. lbs. , milage by 2 to 3 mpg, and has been approved by Dodge to not void the warranty.

Does anyone know if this is true? Has either Dodge or Cummins certified a newer chip. Does 60 hp gain justify this expense? I can't get better than 17 mpg in best highway conditions on my 98. 5 24V Club Cab 4wd 5 sp 3:54 gears with 44k miles. I have read all of the threads the last few months about mileage but have not been able to increase it and would like to upgrade the computer (I don't want to say BOMB because you know who is watching) but will not do anything to void my warranty.

Rick... from what I have been reading on this board and what I hear locally at the shops, ANYTHING that you do to your truck will void the warranty from DC... unless you have a special dealer. Some dealers are much more understanding than others.

Banks claim this about their products, and yet I kow of several here that have been denied warranty work. Same with others. I would recommend that you discuss this with your dealer, see what he says. You can also do a search on the Moss-Magnuson Act for more info.

I'd rather be... .
Cummin than Strokin.

The only box that won't void the engine warrenty . . is the Cummins uprate kit. It's no where near 60hp improvement . . and its WAY over $595, so you can't be talking about this box.

But there still is a gotcha . . the Cummins uprate kit may void the drive train warrenty. If DC could void the warrenty for an HP uprate from Cummins . . it's likely that the info you were provided about a 3rd party vendor is not exactly correct.

Like the others have mentioned . . check with your dealership, unless the warrenty is not an issue.

Keep us informed as to what you find.
