I brought my truck in to my dealership with a noise complaint. When my engine was anywhere above idle, with the clutch all the way to the floor, I would hear and feel in my foot a distinct buzzing noise. Really irritating. I would experience this at every shift (since the engine RPM was up and the clutch was in). I believe that the only correlation to the engine speed is simply the frequency of the vibration from the engine was just right at above-idle conditions.

Anyway, the dealer is, as I type this, installing a new clutch, new pressure plate, resurfacing the flywheel, and new bearings, all under factory warranty.

Does this seem odd to anyone? The truck was completely drivable during all this. They let me take it for the weekend while they ordered parts.

Is there a known TSB on this? I can't find one, and I searched online quite a while today.

Personally, I am not sure their solution will fix the problem, but I could be wrong.

Sounds like a bad release bearing (throw-out bearing). Dealer is taking the shotgun approach. But then if you have the transmission out, you should replace all those items.

Too bad it's too late to have them stuff a South Bend in there.
