New CRD in the garage!

But, it is not a Cummins... It is a Jeep Liberty CRD with the Mercedes/Italian Diesel 4 cylinder turbo...



First of all, I am a Jeep fan... I owned 3 Jeeps before I bought my first Cummins... I like the quality, versatility and systems of them... So, when my woman wanted a diesel and had a use for a off road capable vehicle, what better to get than a Jeep Diesel?



We bought a 06 sport, loaded except leather from Saitta - Trudeau in Pahrump Nevada. I bought my 05 3500 from them in Apri... Great people to deal with, and a good deal on a hot vehicle.



To say that I am impressed with the torque of "the little diesel" is an understatement. This little thing pulls! It is also very quiet, sounds like muffled popcorn being popped... And, the build quality of the 06 Jeep is not disappointing! :-laf



Let the bombing begin!

My wife has an 05 Jeep CRD. I don't get to drive it much, but when I do it really scoots. She absolutely loves it.

Well, I've had a few Jeeps and loved every one of them.

That being understood, this is maybe the first time I've seen the words "Jeep" and "quality" in the same sentence.



Anyone who's a lover of vintage Jeeps knows what I mean.

Kinda like those first gen Dodges.

Gary, I have not had the pleasure of owning a really old Jeep



When I moved to Colorado in 94, I traded in a Dodge Shadow on a 94 Cherokee with the bullet proof inline 6. Great vehicle... I then traded that for a '97 Grand Cherokee Laredo... Same inline 6, great vehicle... Traded that in on a '99 Grand Cherokee Limited 318 v8... I ordered that thing loaded and man was it plush! It also had the most awesome stock stereo of any vehicle I had ever owned! When I went to get a '01 Grand Cherokee, I found out that I could now order the 3/4 ton Ram with a short bed. . I wanted to park it in the garage... All in all, I loved my Jeeps and this little Liberty Diesel has a heck of a personality.

I bought one last April when they first came out. Great little SUV with lots of torque. Mine gets 25 mpg on the highway and about 18 running the kids back and forth to school. Only 2 little issues I have with it, one being it warms up too fast. With the EGR and CAT the thing is up to operating temp in about 2 miles. The other, turbo lag. I have plans to kill the CAT and block the EGR some day and open up the exhaust. This should help a bunch. We towed a single Jet ski up the Grapevine last summer at it about pegged the temp gauge. Shouldn't do that so easily. I have heard that bombing helps. When the $$ is saved up we will definitely be doing that. Overall, very happy with it.

Yes. They will not sell you one with a Calif address, or at least wound not when I bought mine. I have another home in AZ. and use it to tow behind the motorhome. I have a little over 6000 miles on it now and when it reachs 7500 I can bring it into CA as a used vehicle. It's just rediculous how you have to play the game living here on the left coast. Makes you feel like a criminal. That is part of the reason I have not bombed it yet. When I register it here it will have to have the CAT and EGR operable.
