I just took delivery on a special order '04 yesterday. (I jumped the gun, anticipating EGR, but "oh well". ) I can tell they've been paying attention to customer gripes since my '94 was new. The ride is MUCH better, and the ability to customize all the electronic options is a nice touch. Just had an engine "heads up".....
I once had occasion (on my '94) to remove the steel tube at the intercooler outlet, where it leads to the intake manifold. Lo and behold, it was painted on the inside..... which is fine, except that along the welded seam running the length of the tube, the paint had flaked off, sending paint/rust particles flying thru the cylinders! I buzzed it out with a dremel and coated the weld with aircraft structural epoxy. I see we STILL have a steel tube at that position in the plumbing in 2004. Just something to be aware of... .
