new Delo 400

I've noticed more oil consumption with the new formula Delo 400. On the last two oil changes, of about 5k each.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Before the change I did not have any consumption. All was good.

Is that Delo CJ? If that's the case, I won't use it, which I haven't yet.

how do you know this??? I change at every 5,000 now and never have noticed, but never looked for it..... go off by the dip stick?

I have used Delo 400 from the time that Valvaline stoped making Premium blue blend. The new packaging just isn't the same content that it was. seems thiner when changing the oil. And the container as I remember states new forumula for the newer trucks. I would love to get back to the CI4-plus. Yes its the CJ.

Dip stick is best way to check oil level-----

Don't think its a motor issue. They have changed to a more SYNthetic discription on the bottle, but it is'nt synthetic. I think its just the additive package is'nt lasting like it should.

Went to the Chevron web site, The new stuff is ISOSYN technology and from what I can gather its designed for the 2007 and later cause of the newer rules. And a little different formula.

The Delo 400 MULTIGRADE is pre 2007 but try and find it. Don't think any one is going to carry both types so we'll have to make a decision.

Go to Chevron dist, and see if they can get it. I was told that it is still made (the old Delo) More for off road equip. Now

My Blackstone reports are nearly identical to the Delo CI 400 I used to use. Minimal consumption in 4500 miles as before.

Valvoline Premium Blue Classic(CI4+) is still available at Cummins distributors and, last I knew, NAPA. It rated tops in John Martins oil additive test in TDR. I use Valv. Premium Blue Extreme - 5W40 Syn. for our MN winters. Never an oil consumption problem.
