New dodge diesel electric Hybrid 2500 they have for the army

what an awesome piece!!!

they only talked about it for 5 min. , but i would trade my 01 in for that one!!

just think of the MPG on that truck! and still have the diesel to play with :-laf

In the Jan issue of Automotive Engineering they show a pic and have a tiny blurb about what they are calling the "Dodge Ram Contactor's Special".

Shows a pic of a 2500 CTD and they talk about it being able to be operated as a standby generator provinding 110/220 V ac power on job sites and for recreational use. Says it can provide enough electricity to power 4 average homes.

(Yea honey, let me fire up the Ram so we can keep the hot tub warm)

The article is about the latest hybrids in general, so that's all it really says.

I looked it up and all I can find was that truck was suppose to hit production as the contractors special in 04' This is the first I heard about it. Did they go through with it for the public?
