Just wanted to say that I picked up my truck from Fusz Dodge last night and have made it back to South Carolina today.

Oh My Goodness this truck is a kick to drive! I think I'll enjoy it more after I get over the first 2 or 3 payments (ouch!), but can honestly say driving her was a thrill today.

Drove easy for the first 500 miles of the 800 miles home, then unleashed her a bit on the mountains coming through Tennessee and North Carolina on I-40.

I could floor it in 6th gear and outaccelerate every ricer that wanted to draft 2 inches off my rear bumper. The truck climbed every single hill like they were just jokes!

And get this! I got 20. 4 miles per gallon according to the overhead! I'll hand calc tomorrow, but idled for about 30 minutes tonight while taking care of some GPS/NAV system issues with the engine running at home. I suspect my real mileage was probably about 18 to 19.

That seems entirely UNREASONABLE on a brand new Cummins! I expected about 13 miles per gallon, honestly. I noticed a BIG change in mileage the first 400 miles. Was getting 17-18 at 60-65 mph, then started getting 18-19 at the same speed.

I'm really impressed... just hope to get her paid off within 3-4 years. This is going to be a wonderful truck if it lasts.

Only complaint so far is that the bottom piece of the steering column plastic cover isn't lined up at the back/rear tabs. They're sticking out under the top piece. Can't just stick 'em back in, so will have Dodge fix it when I take the truck in for its first service.

Permagrin... Hehehehehh... .
