Wel it took three trips to the dealer for them to hear and acknowledge my driveline noise. Bill K, A driveline shop, and various people have all said that the noise that I heard is in the driveline. The clincher is that I am now 10,000 mi out of warranty. I had the standard 3/36. I went in at 27,000 and 34,000mi and told them about the noise. The service writer said that he has to get ahold of the zone rep and the decision is his. I said that it should have been diagnosed while I was in warranty. WE SHALL SEE... . I hope I don't end up in court with these guys.

I think if you have documentation to show that you presented the problem (and they were unable to figure it out) before coverage was up, you should have no problem.

Don't get discouraged. If the dealer has not abused their warranty claims, you should still be able to get the problem corrected under warranty. I had upper and lower ball joints go bad on both sides of the front end at 50K miles. After politely talking with the service manager, we were able to work out a solution. I ended up paying for the alignment while they took care of the labor and materials for the joint replacement.

I didn't comment to the service writer when He told me that "It isn't up to us here at the dealer, It is up to DC". I felt like telling him, "If you {BLANKITY BLANK} guys had listened more carefully for it and documented it when I was still in WARRANTY, We wouldn't have this problem!" BUT I stayed cool. If it goes smoothly..... I'll be surprised! Now THATS a POSITIVE attitude!

Don't you just love the dealer? If your service manager had any guts, he would make the repair and deal with DC later! It sounds like you have been proactive. If they checked the truck at 27K and 34K you should be in the database. Even if there were no defining results, the record is there.

I don't want to get you worked up before they make a decision. I hate trying to guess how the dealer will handle a situation. I usually get mad just thinking about it.

Of course when the Dealer calls me with a decision, I will let you all know

As of 5:00pm friday... Sorry no call yet!

GREAT NEWS!!! The dealer where I bought my truck from said that they would replace my driveline. The service manager called me and asked me to look on the driveline and give him the part # so we were sure to get the right one. He called me back a week later and they installed it! The noise is goneOo. Oo. !!

My thanks go out to Iversen Motors in Santa Maria Cal. They took care of me and honored the repair even though it was out of warranty by 10,000mi.

The best thing that I can tell everyone is to document any problem or noise that you have while you are in warranty. That is one of the things that helped me out.

Iversen did something right?

Was the service writer Jeff?

He was the only one there with any integrity when I was in need of warranty work.

The service manager at that time was a joke.

Glad to hear everything worked out.
