New Dyno in CenTex

Performance Turbo Motorsports just recieved a new addition to the family- a Mustang MD-600-DE. Its a dual eddy-current dyno, with 1000 hp max measurement and will run up to 200 mph. We are currently planning a few dyno days to break it in, but not sure on the dates yet. We should have the dyno up and fully open to the public by the 22nd. Our first dyno event will be a fun-only day (no competition) where we will bring the local classic rock radio station out to DJ the event. Depending on how many we get signed up, the cost will be $50-$60 for 3 runs. Food and drinks wll be supplied, BYOB for responsible people only. For those of you not familiar with out location, we are 1/2 mile from Lake Belton, plenty of camping and great scenery.

Tell me a little more about that dyno! I've heard of them and have heard they are real good but just wanted some more incite verses on a dynojet.

Well simply put, they DynoJet is more for "beauty" numbers, it will show only your WOT hp, where as an eddy current dyno like our Mustang will show you your peak hp in your most efficient power range when loaded. Also with Mustang dyno's, when tuning, it will hold a load on the vehicle at any RPM you choose, for any amount of time making it easier to fine tune timing and fueling adjustments. . With a DynoJet, you can tune for WOT, but then you would have to go on a drive and do some data logging so your car/truck is under load.

Since we will be doing more tuning on primarily gas vehicles, we opted for the Mustang. DynoJet makes an eddy current dyno, but I hear it doesnt hold a consistent load. If we just wanted to measure everyone's hp and see if some of our mods netted a gain, then we surely would have gone for the DynoJet- and saved about $30k
