North East Let's Rock The House! ..... HOOTERS!

Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!!!!

Just making sure we don't loose our sense of humor now that we might become an official club.

MTY - NETDP Fluid Dynamics Engineer

MTY as "official" the NETDP Fluid Dynamics Engineer, I just want to make sure you follow the same laws of physics I was taught (or better - sat through) in College.

1) Fluids today

2) Heat tonight

3) Gas tomorrow

Did I miss something when I was sleeping in class??

Matt, Are we looking for Just a Fearless Leader, Or are we also going to start thinking ahead for ALL positions? Actually what Positions do we need?

Fearless one , Treasurer , Spokesman (You) , Area Reps ... ?? (Low on priority) ... Events CoOrdinator.

Or am I getting Ahead, Didn't read enough  Hate it when that happens (Trying to squeeze a post in on a shortened lunch). Also From the Raffle at the Seafood Challenge there is 215. 00 in the kitty set aside from that alone. (After all payouts from reciepts that day pertaining to the meet) God we need another SF Challenge bad how good was that?

So Now it's official MTE IS the spokeman on events (I honestly did not know that ... ..... My Bad on the Hooters thingy)

 Tim, you've been missing the meetings

No, you aren't getting ahead... let's talk about who we need for officers... what we want to do... anything organizational... cover as much ground as we can before the meet!

I should say, my job is up for grabs... if someone wants to be Capt. Email, let's get their name in the hat.

And I've had some thoughts about email votes. I'm not sure I want the responsibility of counting votes. Email comes with the sender's name attached, there's no anonymity, so either everyone knows who voted for who, or only one person does. If it's me, I'd rather not put myself in a position where I could be accused of impropriety.

MTE

CAPTAIN E-MAIL to the rescue. I'll do it if need be, don't mind at all.

For an official vote ballot, we should find out if Steve St. Laurent will accept the votes and then post the results ;) .

What do ya think???

If we can be sure folks can't vote more than once, we could have a poll right here... just have to set a limit on how long the poll is open... . Steve St L could do that for us without even getting out of his easy chair

One candidate volunteering to be Captain Email, do I hear a second for Mark Trenske? (Torque This)

In the interest of a fair democratic approach to things... .

I'll second that on the basis of opening the possibility of having a more 21st century approach (like a Steve St. Laurent hacked poll)... if we can't do the poll... then do the email thing.

MTY

On edit: Does the president of NETDR have interns? If so... I want to self-nominate myself!! Bill Clinton got away with it... . so can I!

Hi All,

Being the NEW guy I can only try to share my experiences in this kind of stuff...

Please, take this with a grain on salt... In your wounds if you must... LOL J/K laugh will ya...

I have had a great deal of experience with a club of similar size... 15 K right ! If I could get into some detail on that one 1st, you might see my angle...

So, here goes...

The other club: A motorcycle club

Great tech boards and general message boards... PLUS+ a regional message board with geographic's in mind... It has a northwest, a southwest, a new england, a southeast and so on... you get the point...

Same quality, services and all the knowledge we have here...

The added bonus to this MC site is in the regional area... The New England crew posts on the New England board... The Midwest crew posts on the Midwest board... Or you could post on the southwest board if you want to talk with someone there...

Keep in mind we also have the same boards we have here... The regional area is just more suited to region...

But, message boards do not make a club...

In the MC club the new england region has over 1,200 members... each state has a state rep... that's it... no other form of politics...

The rep really does not do much but, enjoy being *****ed at constantly... LOL

We do not cross state lines when it comes to outing's, event's and whatever... It does not mean we don't share our thoughts or idea's with our new england brothers... It's the state in which the gathering is in has the responsibility to organize the event... But, help is always given in a club of members from all who want to...

An event= It does not have to be held, organized or put together by an officer, rep or anyone in particular... The member/ members who want to hold this event (queried by members of course) are responsible for it's success... food, prizes, raffles, safety and such fall on the member or members holding it... People help often so you are not alone... I put on a BBQ and 100 mile ride at Lake George each year without a hitch... Not alone of course... Last year, 127 MC's and 150 + people...

Everything is non profit and no kitty is ever created... eliminating treasure's also...

If it seems like blah, blah, blah your right. . I can't type to words the same a speaking...

In short, if Steve St L. would add a detailed regional area on the message boards, it might cover the bases and eliminate further cost...

I am not in favor of paying dues to a regional club... This one covers my needs... I know it can be done for free...

If you want, I can bring it up to Steve St L. as I speak on a casual basis with him daily... I won't bother unless you ask...

I could go on and on for ever... LOL

OK you win...

Thanks,

Stew

I don't think that would be an issue because we ARE after all a tight group and are not tryin to take over the world or In Political unrest (That isn't doing the western ... . or is it eastern world any good and it won't do us any either) :) ... . Just a bunch of guys that were brought together by One common thing ..... Our trucks (O. K 2 common things if you count food)

I support this democratic approach and Sure I support TQT's nomination.

what ever happens here lets not forget who we are and what were trying to accomplish. From what I've read, I feel a little tension in the wire's. What I'm saying is that everyone is unique in their own way, so taking that into consideration ones ideas and thoughts might conflict with others. The reason I say this is because I've had experience with small clubs and I would really hate to see a good thing go bad, because of differences.

Lets all get together somewhere we can discuss this and only this I believe this would be best

My opinion Hooters is not the place.

We should designate some where quiet with a good atmosphere so we can stay focused!

Figgy, we were going to discuss this during the wrench day two weeks ago, but once the wrenches were flying, there wasn' t another thought about it.

Stew, good thoughts and thanks for your contribution.

Tim seconds Mark as a candidate for Captain Email. No nominations for Fearless Leader as yet.

PLEASE... If you are willing to hold an office, let us know!!!

I have already stated that I would take over for e-mailing about news and events. If someone else would be interested, please speak up.

I am going to step up to the plate and nominate ToolManTimTaylor as our fearless leader.

We really need people from other states for officers, all from the same state is not a good idea IMO.

We have a GREAT thing going here guys.

Its gettin ugly in here! It is hard to tell when some get hot under the collar on line and some of these posts seem to be taken out of context. Maybe we should let the whole thing drop for now intead of bantering on infront of 14000 other members. After all, the rest of the world doesn't need to know what a bunch of gas bags we are!!:D MTY!!! Why not let it cool down and we just have a low key get together no wrenchin, no spinnin rollers, no half nekid girlies and just talk it out in person. We set a time, place, and do it. Could be we reserve a small room in a restaruant (not hooters) have a few beers, some chow get down to business and move on.

Alternative, we take care of business at hooters first BEFORE my two most favorite things in the world start to fly (T!t!es n Beer). Those that can make it will have input, those that can't could send an e-mail of their thoughts to our e-mail guy to be printed out and laughed at at hooters.

This stuff y'all are discussing is easily handles in person in short time.

So heres my suggestion: 1-Meet at Hooters, 2-be on time,3- take care of NETDP business, 4-enjoy the day.

Thats . 02 more. Add it up Batman!!!

:)

Mark F (no baby yet! but she's gonna blow!!!!!!)

MarkF,

I must be missing something. I don't see what is so heated, or ugly for that matter. I just want to cover some of the ground discussion wise before we get together, just so no one is caught by surprise. I think we'll have to go through the formal nomination process in person, but by then, it should just be a formality.

I realize that many feel putting their thoughts down in print is a little risky, but we give each other I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER all the time and no one gets hurt. Like Jeff said, we need to remember that we're a bunch of guys hanging out over beer in a garage.

All opinions welcome. None rejected. Tell us what you want out of our get togethers. Who would you like to manage events? What do you have to say?

MTE

Maybe when we get together at Hooters, we discuss what we want to accomplish while everyone is there and pick a date, time and place to have a formal discussion with no distractions. Even if we have to rent a place and we split the cost between the attending members.

I nominate Matt the Elder, aka "Wheaties" as fearfull leader.

:D

Anyone second in the ocean, I mean second the motion?

Jay

MarkF..... if I add your numbers up correctly, the answer is 10 (1+2+3+4=10)... ..... right:confused:

ok, 2 members have been nominated for leader... ... do they accept prior to seconds?

Matt?

Tim?

Bueler?Oo.
