North East Let's Rock The House! ..... HOOTERS!

Ahh a great point

Origionaly posted by: MTE (AKA Wheaties)The email thing hasn't worked as well as it might, and more recently we've resorted to just starting a thread on the TDR and following up with an email to let everyone know. Tim has pointed out that a TDR thread leaves anyone who isn't a member mute unless they can ask through someone who is. This is a good point. Should we have our own website? Will this solve our problem? It might. Do we want to decide to have a website as a group or should someone just decide that for us?

Heres one you will like matt!

Everyone who has created a membership to the site enters their E~Mail address which is logged on the server. This is directly tied into a GREAT feature in a ONE CLICK motion ... . Mass Email! Once clicked this sends a mail to every member at once! I thought that was slick as rotella (Or maybe amsoil).

Sorry to hear your stepping down George. (Batman)

My only hope is that we keep meeting like we have been. :) We have had some great meets. Maybe what we need is not a president but a coordinator (event coordinator??? :confused)

Have we had any thoughts about getting this chapter sanctioned by the TDR??? Maybe something we could look at as well?

You guys remind me today's engineers can't leave the old simple stuff alone and gotta make it complicated and screw it up.

Now I didn't read all pages but Batman is stepping down? NO one gave him the OK:rolleyes: Votes, please we don't need to go through those hanging chads or whatever:D

Hooters way to go, when's the next meet or dyno, I feel like kicking ass

Hey Fred!

Personally, I think we should avoid an election all together, and go straight to a military coup. We could hit one of those places where you rent paint pellet guns and play capture the flag. Then the biggest controversy is who gets to be the 'yellow' team.

I believe we are going to have a dyno meet in early May. That was the plan anyway.

Actually the problem with the email hasn't been in the sending part. That works fine. The problem is in getting folks to RSVP so we could get a head count. I should have been clearer.

Most of us asked that email go out Bcc so that our addresses didn' t get published to everyone.

Talk about affiliations with the TDR came up a 'nay'. Apparently, someone initiated legal actions against the TDR when a local chapter got a little to rowdy. I don' t know the facts, but that was the rumor I heard. On our side, we wanted to bring in other diesel folk, not just Dodge people.

I do realize that but that was last year and who else from any other brands have we brought in??? (Scott doesn't count ;) )

If that is still the plan, GREAT but some may have changed thier mind and opinion. We have alot of new people on board since that decision was made.

Another vote may be in order.

Bob, I'm hurt, really, really hurt. I spent so much time on your truck putting in your gauges, and you can't even remember my name:confused: :rolleyes: :{

Back to the topic.

To everyone in the club... ..... I felt it best to stand down, as I don't have enough time to devote to the club for what I feel is required. I don't think it is fair to everyone involved to hold on to a title that I can't support. Thanks for your understanding.

Personal opinions on the club:

- there are far more members than I ever anticipated, everyone having ideas on what they would like (wether voiced or not)

- Maybe having small yealry dues may not be a bad idea, this should be discussed again.

- I think there needs to be at least 3-4 people that handle the club activities (call them what you want)

- anyone interested should mention so, and what they are interested in doing. Pres. vice pres. jokester, whatever.

I have re-thought many of my original views, based on the last years experience. I have gone to many club sites to see what's out there. Now, I feel that a website is a good idea. It can keep club business away from an open site such as this.

I hope this make sense, and doesn't offend anyone.

If you have any ideas on what YOU want out of the club, now would be the time to voice them. Give suggestions.

Be safe

George... ... ... ... . (or in BigDig's case, the guy that put his gages in:D )

I misspoke. You did have this to contribute. C'mon Batman, where's your sense of humor?... I was only diggin' on ya' a little. :p

While we don't have many trucks that aren't Dodge, we do have a few, and we'd like to make them feel welcome and have access to local events.

Right, another vote... .

Well, just for the record... ... . For what it's worth that is.....

I don't care who is the President or coordinator, or call him or her "straw boss".

I like being kept informed of the "events" in the manor that has been done over the past year. So whomever is Captain or 2nd Leiutenant is ok with me as long as that continues as a minumum.

Whomever has been doing the what I know as hard work in organizing and hosting the events... and I know it has been differnent folks, GREAT job.

I like the informal "hangin' around the garage" style that has developed.

Most of us seem to get along.

I like the new web site.

Bottom line is other than finding someone willing enough to do a lot of work orgainzing events, let's not go nuts.

CTDs rule, but other truckers (and roller skaters) are welcome too.

Not being an "official" chapter having to abide by "rules" does have it's advantages... it's in our heritage.

I vote for no vote, let the first volunteer have a crack at it.

Jay

Two votes for no votes. Brian I think you got that exactly right, er voting not to vote to vote. Do you guys have a proposal as to what should take the place of a vote? Jay, I know you said quite a bit just above, keep it to a minimum and so forth. What do you propose is the minimum?

Matt

I think what I meant was that although you have been sending very few e-mails, news of upcomming events has been announced in adeqate fashion, and with ample advance notice.

That is likely because we are a generally talkative group and most of the advance notice comes via these threads.

Then when plans appear to be solidifying you have been pretty good about starting a new thread to really organize things and you supliment that with usually a single e-mail.

That has been enough for me, and I'm glad you have kept the e-mails to a minimum.

I hope I explained.

Jay

I think a cold beer and a another beer should take the place instead of a vote. I know I'm no help in this thread, but I can t stand politics, especially when ther does not have to be any.

Jeff,I am with you. lets not make this any more complicated than it needs to be.

I do agree with that. I was just wondering if we would want to talk about us getting sanctioned by the TDR.

I'm flexible and NOT politically motivated ;)
