New "even lower" sulfer Diesel in 2006?

I heard on the radio that Diesels may be back for passenger cars now that they are developing and rolling out a new "low sulfer" fuel nation wide.



I have heard that the "de-sulfer" process also takes the lubricity out of the fuel. Does this mean our older trucks are at risk?



I have never run any fuel additive as when the truck was new I did and I lost a fuel pump and many fuel sending units. The truck seems to run better without them so...



Any Thoughts?

All pumps and injecrtors are at risk anytime the lubricity of fuel goes down. I dump in additives all the time.

Refiners add lubrication additives to the fuel. Older trucks won't be affected.

Ditto that... I never depend on the supplier to "save my VP44".

I've yet to see ANYTHING that made it go DOWN on a permanent basis!
