Looking at changing exhaust. Found a pretty good deal on Silverline 409 duals. Mainly looking for good sound to start, but other mods will follow. I've heard the dual systems sound more like 18 wheelers and the singles sound more like dump trucks. Would welcome opinions / advice on Silverline systems, difference in sound, or other options. Thanks

Welcome!

Where are you in Tennessee? We've got a pretty good group of fellas here in Middle TN. Come join us over here:

Couple of good local shops, too. Underwood Tire in Dickson and Cedar City Diesel in Lebanon. Both would be able to help you with exhaust questions or anything else you need.

There's an indoor pull this weekend in Murfreesboro that a lot of the fellas are going to and we're trying to get a meet up this month.

If you'll put a little info in your signature it'll help people know what truck you have and let people know a little better where you are.

I'm in Smyrna Tn. Trying to get this posting straight as I'm new to this. I thought the truck profile showed on the post. Got a signature saved now,but it didn't make the original post. I've got a 97' 2500, clud cab, 4X4. 58k, stock.

I can't see what truck you have, but on my truck I just inst. the muf. elem. pipe on the stock 4in. exh. (cat still on) and I like it much better.

To me, mine kind of sounds like the big trucks did with the big Cummins or Cats (I-6s/4 strokes) a few years ago, before they made the exh. so quiet, as they are today.

I sometimes I roll down both windows on the pass. side, just to hear that sound while shifting through the gears.

Better performance? (?) Better sound ? (Yes)

Good Luck, Ray

Got my exhaust from Pinnacle Performance in Wyoming. Good sound and pricing. Also has lifetime warranty on aluminum exhaust.
