Looking for new exhaust system from turbo back. Whats your opinion and why?Im going to add an cat delete test pipe so I can test the cat every two years hear in Cal. Truck is 04. 5 LBCC. Motor will remain stock

I think first you have to decide whether you want SS or Aluminized. And if SS which grade.

There are some great buys out there right now, Diamond Eye for one is a nice system / good fit, Farm Boy Diesel also has very affordable systems. I like my Aluminized MBRP and would purchase it again. Very good fit, no problems what so ever, it also has a 1 piece tail pipe over the axle, which I prefer. Some folks like the two piece tail pipe because it is more forgiving as far as fitment.

Whatever system you purchase, I would recommend band clamps vs u-bolt crimp type clamps. The band clamps are more expensive, but you can take them apart very easily, like you want to do with your cat-delete pipe.

I have had my Flo Pro Aluminized on for over 100k and still looks good. I have 5 inch from the down pipe back, it seems a bit much but I like the sound and the turbo seems to spool faster with the larger pipe. The exhaust was shipped to my house and took me about 3 hours to install.

Ive got the 4" T304 SS Silverline system from Geno's... . I absolutely love it. I did as you are going to do and remove the Cat. . The truck sounds good, not NEAR as loud as a straight piped truck, the fit was excellent, installation was easy. The pipes are secure (reuses factory hangers) and it doesn't rattle or leak.

The system came with the traditional u-bolt clamps... . but spend for the SS band type clamps as JJ suggested. . its money well spent. You can get the band clamps from your local NAPA parts store.

It seems that I've noticed a drop in EGT during cruise and pulling modes... approx. 100-150 degrees. . Lower EGT is always good.

I have the Magnaflow 5" turbo back system , fit very well, sounds good, stainless steel (cat came up missing), Was very reasonably priced.

Like wingate I have the Silverline, only I went with the 409 rather than the 304. I installed the Cat even with the T case output shaft. The Cat has all the catalyst removed. I did this as to be able to pass visual inspection.

The Silverline system went on easily. Careful installation is a must when connecting it to an exhaust brake. If your running an exhaust brake leave it loosened up until the entire exhaust system is installed then tighten all flanges. Mine was'nt aligned properly and I had a exhaust leak for over a year until I noticed it while changing my oil.
