New Exhaust

Recieved my new DPP exhaust in 2 days! I installed it tonight, only an hour total. The pain in the butt is getting the old off. Anyway, the exhaust is an aluminized 4" with a 5" stailess tip. So far the sound at idle is close to a 24 valvle w/o muffler. Also no drone. No increase in sound in the cab either. I can't say enough good things about the DPP system. Thanks Mark, I will post pics when I can figure out how to make them smaller.

Under what conditions and RPMs were you getting exhaust drone with the stock system?

Glad you're installation went as we discussed, the Dodge system's are the easiest to install as every hanger is welded to our pipes just like the factory system. Enjoy it in good "Fuel oil burning high compresion health"!!!!!!

DPP is on my list for sure, I just haven't gotten to exhaust yet.

Glolas, no drone with the stock, I had cut the muffler out previously, and had a drone at 50 mph.



Charlie, you shouldn't have to be your own warrany station. Changing the exhaust should mean that the only warranty lost is on the exhaust.

The drone is a tricky thing and it seems to depend on the individual owner to some degree. Some folks hear it on a stock truck and then don't hear it at all with a system like ours and it's kind of strange when it happens. I think it's the hertz level that changes and some folks don't hear certain levels but hear others. We use a 2 inch ceramic blanket and a 2 inch stainless steel wool packing material in our muffler and it stops the drone and lets the deep tone rumble out that folks are after.
