I'm hoping it will fix those probs. I don't really want to here that my new injectors didn't last only 14k.

is this a question you're asking ? A quick check on a Starscan will tell you if the FCA is bad. I think if it was bad though you'd have more of a problem than just a rough idle.

I don't see the injectors in your sig... . are they stock or someone elses ? It may be neither and could be a compression or injector leak since you say they're new ????

Probably injectors going again. Like you said, if the FCA was bad, id would do something else totally weird. Maybe it's the bare wire SteveD come across.

Have you changed fuel lately? I found that just the brand of fuel will affect idle/noise... something to consider if it just came about.

And again, I just posted up about finding that wire... someone else gets credit for doing the legwork initially! It helped, but eventually it was a bad injector(s) causing most of my problems...

I ran a couple tanks of low sulfur (dyed) w/ a can of sea-foam, then updated my Smarty. I don't know if the wire was bare, but I wiped all the oil off due to a leaking oil filter, and it idles a lot better, praise the lord. I did have an injector test done, and I got 2 injectors that are "not performing as well as the others". But you can hardly notice. Now I need to figure out if I got a boost leak.

Based on what others have said, it might be the Smarty thats making you have a little more injector noise... I think its termed "injector rattle". I've seen a few threads of late asking about Smarty and injector noise...

I'd take a piece of convoluted tubing and protect that wire... just to be on the safe side...

Next time you get a can of SeaFoam, read the ingredients and see if it has any alcohols in it... I can't remember if it did or not now. Alcohols aren't good...

throw half a bottle of howes meener cleaner in it and drive it hard! you want alot of fuel flow for an extended period of time, and hopefully high egt's. its what we used to refer to as an " italian tune up". it got that name from all the exotic cars people were buying then babying. the customer would come in with drivability problems, we'd throw some strong fuel cleaner in it then drive it hard for 15-30 min and it'd be a night and day diferance.

diesel guys see the same thing when they come back from a trip hauling heavy. the truck runs better due to it burning off the carbon etc.
