For several weeks, my truck started surging when cold as soon as I touched the accelerator. I installed a new FCA today and the surging is gone. Hope this is the end of that issue. The truck was starting fine and the surging was only when started cold and would stop only after I would add throttle during the surging.

Yep. Sorry. They are now labeled as an MOROP or FCA/MPROP. Don’t know what the MPROP stands for though but that’s the Bosch name.

2015. Just got back from a 400 mile trip. I can’t believe how much improved accelerator response is as the truck now starts faster. It was not going to be long before the FCA failed completely. The surging is completely gone as well. I went with the Bosch FCA which I believe is the OEM part.

Thanks. I have a 2014 with 150k miles. Mine sputters when cold, sometimes a dead pedal too and no codes. Once it's warmed up everything is fine.

Yep. Mine wouldn’t start surging until I gave it some throttle. After about 20-30 seconds when I would reach the road and add more throttle, it would stop surging.

My MY16 2500 does not surge but since I got the truck at 23K I have not been real happy with the slugish performance on the low end and that comes home to me every time I get into my 99 and it still gets and goes! Wonder if the MPROP could be any part of an answer to this

Could be or could be the Throttle Position Sensor. My sluggish response came on over time and I really hadn’t thought about it. In hindsight, it was like I was towing (not heavy) when I didn’t have a trailer hooked up. That’s about how sluggish it was feeling at the end. Now, throttle response is immediate. It’s in the 20s here this morning and no surging.
