New feature Request - 'view new posts'

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

SLOWWWWwwww!

MySQL upgrade done on main server - keeping fingers crossed ;)

Would it be possible to somehow incorporate a feature into the 'view new posts' whereby we could 'subscribe' to the parts of the forum we want to see new posts for? For example, I may want to see posts on accessories and 2nd Gen, but not 3rd Gen when I click this link.

I have found that if I don't check the new posts for a day or two, I am getting 300-400 posts I have to wade thru... many of which don't apply to me or that I am not really interested in.

Thanks for your consideration.

Steve, I hate to add to the work load, but I've gotta second this request.

In the old days it was kinda fun to read all the post, but with the increase in membership and posting, it's a chore to sort out the ones I want to read.

Of course the blinding fast 2400bps connection speed we have could be part of the problem.

Thanks, RJR

If I have one I am keepin my eye on I simply go to the button at the top #ad
That says User Control Panel and look at my subscribed threads.

But you want one that when clicked shows threads that only YOU have replied or posted to kinda thing? ... . That would be sweet. Then again just do a search using your username only and that will do it too.

That would be a HUGE change to the software to make that happen. It would probably take at least 50 to 60 hours worth of programming to make that happen that would have to be redone on any major program changes. We will be upgrading to vBulletin 3. 0 sometime in the next 6 months to a year and that would have to be redone then. The best way to do it, especially if you are only interested in a forum or two is to just click on the forums you are interested in. The new threads are marked on the forum list and if you click on the down arrow to the left of the thread it will take you to the first new post on that thread. I personally never use the new posts feature because there are so many of them. I just browse by each forum. BTW, we are getting an average of 800 new posts a day and over 1000 some days.
