I was curious if anyone knows what will be new in 2005? I hope to order one this fall(Need to get a helicopter first!). I read somewhere here that Sirius might be an option. I have Sirius in my Jetta and love it. I would consider the GPS but only if Sirius was available through the same display.

Is the Ram radios 1. 5 Din? How easy it is to install an after market radio with the oval face. Does anyone here have a flip up touchscreen DVD/GPS? Does anyone make a 1. 5 Din in these?

Thanks

Sirius was an option starting in 03 if I remember right. I have seen the GPS and they are nice but I don't know if you can get Sirius also.

the GPS and the sirius can be combined. i have the CD version of the GPS and will be putting in the Sirius shortly. It shows how it looks in the Radio booklet along with how to use it

I think they will have powered rear windows that are controlled by an indoor thermostat. It opens when the inside temperature reaches 85 degrees. Great option for pet lovers... .

I think they will have those cool turn signals on the large towing mirrors that will warn the car next to you that you are planning on mowing, oops, moving over into his lane... .

They will put rear wheel liners back into the trucks and repent for all the other rear wheel liners missing and conpensate everyone with a new pair installed free... .

They will add better illumination. In fact they are going to add Xenon lamps with high desity quartz lens's that will blind the oncoming traffic, yet provide daylight street surface illumination so a man could read the paper at 300 feet... .

Fuel mileage will start to compete with the hybrid cars coming out. The new engines will get 50+ miles per gallon and when you tow often, the mileage will continue to improve... .

Sales will be brisk as customers line the dealerships with a year long waiting list and then a year long wait for their one truck allocation.

'05 will be a banner year. Oh, I almost forgot, the price will be reduce to half price to compete with the foreign competition.....

It'll be a good year.

No major change until 2007 but if I were ready to order today I would wait for the 05 in hopes that some of the inherant problems have been addressed, although I have not had any problem with my 04. 5.

One thing I wish they would do and it wouldn't take much to do it. Our fold out mirrors need to be foldable and unfoldable from the driver's door. So often I forget to flip 'em out till I'm going down the road and then wish I could do it without stopping. Just my $. 02

There are two navigation radios that will work.

The RB4 is factory orderable and uses a CD for it's database. It can give turn-by-turn directions but can not have a background road map view.

The RB1 is an aftermarket option, costs maybe $1000-1400. It uses DVDs and can have the road map view.

Some info you might find useful, it's for Jeeps but the Ram stereos are similar or the same.

RB1

I have the RB1 in my 03 and love it . I got mine off E-bay, along with a 6 CD changer. We spent several weeks in Florida last

winter and used the RB1 many times. If you do much traveling the RB1 is something that is easy to justify and fun to use.

Pisses me off that you buy a $47k truck with every option, pay $800 OVER the 6-CD Infinity system, and they still give you the old RB-4 CD-based NAV system.

I agree. Or if you want the RB1, it's not too far off the price of the OEM RB4. BUT you need to buy a stereo anyways.

My plan, if I get the RB1, sell the 6-disc indash on eBay. Buy the RB1 on eBay.
