Now that I've caught up with the back log of items on my to do list (over 220 hrs worth of work in the last 6 weeks) and have the site running stable on the new server we're busy adding new features that have been requested in the past as well as those that we've had in mind for some time. BTW, speaking of the servers, the 2nd server goes back into the hosting facility on friday and I'll be testing it over the next couple of weeks after that to make sure it is stable, then we'll be running on both servers like we've planned all along. So we'll have a backup server sitting on the side ready to go in case one goes down as well as sharing the load between the two servers when they are both up (we haven't had any problems with server loads even running on the one server BTW).
We added a couple of previously requested forums today. First is the Member's rigs spotted forum. Quite a few users had requested this, to be honest we're not sure how well it will work out but since it was requested by so many we're giving it a try. It took us a while to come up with a way to implement it where it would be usable by the membership and hopefully we came up with a good method. That forum is up on a test basis from now until December 1st of this year - at that time we will reevaluate it based on the usage it's had and it may or may not stay. Second is the off road forum. Since I'm an off road fanatic and regularly beat on my truck off road
it was a natural for me to handle the moderating on that one.
We've also added a First Time Cummins Diesel Owners forum. The thought here is that it will be a place for posting of the simpler questions from first time owners that pop up time and time again on the regular forums to help keep those forums cleaner for the more veteran owners (like what's the silencer ring, which oil filter do I use, etc). Andy Bishop will be monitoring/moderating that forum and providing answers to the questions that aren't answered by us veterans. Andy will also be moderating the Member's Rigs Spotted forum for us.
Lastly, we combined the two chapter forums into one. There wasn't that much activity in the Local and Regional Chapters forum and given the addition of the new forums we decided to combine them to shorten up the list of forums.
Enjoy the new changes and watch for more features to be added in the near future!
