Replaced front brake pads, didn't turn rotors. I had to tap-in calipers on both sides. Torqued anti-rattle springs per FSM to 180-inch pounds, the rotors spun, but very snug/tight. Took a test drive streets and 2-miles on freeway. A slight brake pad smell at the end of offramp. Parked in driveway, I touched the front rims and hubs. They were hot, on both sides. What y'all think? Is this normal? Truck stops fine, no noises.
Thank you for your wisdom & experience! Patrick

I replaced mine at 263k miles and during the test drive the right caliper stuck hard against the rotor from being 15 yrs old. I had to pry the caliper off and replace caliper, both rotors because the service limit measurement on rotors is .063 before discard. I would check both sides to make sure properly operating. Some smell during break-in is normal.

Get a wire wheel and make the calibers, and slides shine, then lube them good with synthetic caliber lube and that should stop the drag

Thank you to y'all who responded. Cool wheels now, 2nd day driving. Yes, I cleaned up all parts completely before assembly. :D

Blessings to all members & their families.
Patrick
