Hi guys,

Well, I went to the dealer, bought a new fuel sender unit, (about $60) had it installed by my mechanic, and the gauge still doesn't work. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I might try next? (The gauge reads "empty" and the "low fuel" light stays on. )

Any help will be appreciated.

I am having the same problem. I did'nt buy a new one yet, but I checked the sending unit and it seems to be fine. My fuel gauge stays pegged at E and the gas pump light stays on. I have no ideas left other than tracing wires.

I read on here not a long ago a big thread on this and what some of the guys did to fix the problem. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find all the info you can use as this seems to be a ongoing problem.

I read through hundreds of posts and I'm pretty sure I know how to use the search function. Most guys replace the sending unit and everything is honky-dory, well I replaced mine last august, then my fuel gauge quit last week, I am not talking reading funny or a little off, I mean CRAPPED OUT!!! I have gone through all kinds of tests, switched dashboards with my roomate and traced wires-still nothing. This is a problem worth addressing.
