Refrigerant Compressor Pump as Air Compresor

Hey all, been a long time, but I just added some new additions to my garage to aid in the restoration of my Camaro.

I bought a rotisserie a few weeks ago to help with the body work on it.

Today was delivered my new Eaton 7. 5hp 80 gallon with 33 CFM of displacement and 26 CFM @ 175psi. I also picked up an air dryer unit from them as well, should remove that mugginess of the South Carolina air out of the compressed air. Now I just need to get them setup, wired and plumbed.

Nice compressor!

I bought a "gently used" 80 gallon commercial vertical Ingrosol Rand unit a while back to use in my home shop. I believe it is around 20 something CFM but can go higher with an optional 7. 5 horsepower motor. It does all I need to do with the 5 horse 3-phase motor.

I was recently given an older "Wayne" 100 gallon horizontal compressor (also commercial duty) from one of my customers. It appears to be in GREAT condition but with a bad 5 horse 3-phase motor. I plan to hook up a 8 horse Acme air cooled diesel engine to it. I have got to take pictures of my "goodies" to post on here, including the 30 gallon 6 horse Yanmar diesel powered air compressor I built for servicing forklifts at one of our big customers' place.

I love air compressors. Each of my service trucks has a 30 gallon diesel powered compressor on it and we have a HOSS of a compressor at the shop which I have yet to install. It has TWO 10 horsepower 3-phase motors/pumps that will either alternate duty or run together. It is on a 250 gallon tank and is made by Champion.

I hope you get that drywall painted-especially in a humid environment. Start out with a good primer--two coats are nice. Finish with a hard semi or gloss paint. That is the money coat ,so get a high quality paint like Sherwin-Williams.

I can see from the photos that the guy who taped the drywall did a nice job. It will not look good for long in a garage environment, and the addition of dirt BEFORE you paint will cause many problems.
