I have installed a pyrometer (in the manifold) and a fuel pressure gauge and am wondering what are the number that I should be looking for? What are the Holy ***** I have a problem numbers, and what are normal numbers?

35 Views and no response? I must have phrased my question badly, lets try again! I have a new pyrometer and a new fuel pressure gauge and need to know what are normal numbers (running down the road but with no big load), working the truck hard numbers, and what are the numbers that I need to be concerned about? How hot is too hot on the pyro and what is too low on the fuel pressure? Hopefully this is clearer.

1250 degrees should be about the limit, not real sure about the fuel psi but think anything below 5 can cause problems.

I like to see no less than 8psi on a stock transfer pump at WOT. I see 11-13 at cruise on freeway.

I agree with the 1250 mark on EGT. If I am pulling a long hill with my trailer, I try to keep it at 1100-1150deg.
