new GDP Intake came in!

My new intake came in yesterday. I thought you might want to see before and after photos:

You can see that the restriction by the mounting bolts is gone, and that the bends have a larger radius than stock.



This particular one is a different silver than what you would get if you ordered today. I had it on pre-order, and Richard didn't have the "Silver Hammer" powder in at the time, so he substituted this color after okaying it with me. Richard said that there only two were made in my color.



The install went pretty smoothly except for attaching the wiring harness stud on the back. I recommend doing that one before you do any of the other bolts.



No, I don't have any dyno numbers, and it did not make an immediately obvious difference in how the truck drives, but the way I see it, eliminating that restriction can't be anything but good. I'm also very excited about the bung holes on the back. I have plans for those babies!

You're talking about the back of the intake, right?:-laf That's a very nice looking intake btw. Kinda wish I had one.

The black stuff is an ATP wrap, just like nickleinonen observed.



And I also noticed that the hose clamp didn't look right, despite me trying several times to get it seated properly. I think it's because the GDP intake comes into the hose at a slightly different angle than the stock intake. I'm thinking that maybe if I loosened both hose clamps I might be able to get the hose straighter.



They are listed at $249, but the pre-order guys got a nice discount. Still, if you compare it to the CFM+ at $349. 99 with no bungs or fuel filter bracket it is a bargain any way you look at it.

You know I'd post some pics of my new Glacier intake but since it looks exactly like yours what's the point! Maybe I'm the other guy that got that color, it has the look and feel of cast aluminum. It went on perfectly and looks factory, I'm very pleased.
